Portico Design Group is a Vancouver based full service interior design firm. We provide design services to both commercial and residential clients, resort operators and residential and commercial real estate developers. Our design process, combined with our strong understanding of marketing, allows us to achieve success in all types of projects, both large and small.

This Role:

Portico Design Group is looking for a highly motivated Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team. You are self-driven, and fueled by providing the highest quality design product. You love being a member of a team where all voices are heard and supported. You love collaborating with a consultant team to create unique, creative and well thought out spaces. 

More specifically this role would involve: 

• Directly communicating with Clients and managing the day to day progress of your projects (likely multiple project at the same time) 
• Effectively coordinate with local suppliers, project consultants, client representatives, and team members to deliver project milestones 
• Pulling together cohesive designs and presenting all finishes and specifications to the client through engaging visual presentations
• Lead, and participate in the development of comprehensive drawing packages that meet and exceed industry standards 
• Managing and executing all contract admin submissions from the clients project manager 
• The ability to infer all life safety, building code requirements, technical aspects

Requirements/Skill set:  

• A degree or diploma in Interior Design 
• 3+ years working with a recognized Interior Design or Architectural Firm (experience with Developers would be an asset)
• Attained your NCIDQ/RID status (or are actively pursuing) 
• Sound knowledge in AutoCAD, Windows, Microsoft, Adobe, and Sketch-up 
• A portfolio of appropriate work to showcase the breadth of product type you’ve contributed to
• Self-directed and able to work independently, but know when to reach out for guidance and support 
• Ready to receive and welcome coaching from supervisors and colleagues, as well as open to providing that coaching to those that can learn from you 
• Armed with excellent time management and organizational skills 
• A desire to build strong relationships with diverse personalities both within and outside the company 
• Passionate about design, creating homes for all, a positive outlook, and patience
