Position Description
We are seeking an adaptable and tech-savvy Junior Developer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or a professional with 0–3 years of experience who possesses a strong foundation in full-stack development and an eagerness to leverage modern tools. You will work across diverse technology stacks (including C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and SQL) to build, test, and deploy robust applications. A key differentiator for this role is the intentional use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding velocity and optimize software delivery across cloud ecosystems.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000 - $80,000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Your future duties and responsibilities
. Full-Stack Development: Build, maintain, and optimize responsive front-end interfaces (React, Angular) and reliable back-end systems (C#/.NET, Java/SpringBoot, Python).
. AI Tool Integration: Actively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to write, debug, and refactor code efficiently.
. Database Management: Write, optimize, and maintain efficient relational queries and data structures using SQL.
. Automated Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated browser and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality.
. Pipeline Management: Collaborate on configuring, maintaining, and automated testing via CI/CD coded pipelines.
. Cloud & Infrastructure: Assist in deploying, monitoring, and managing multi-cloud application architectures, leveraging automation tools where applicable.
. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data science teams to successfully integrate AI models and NLP data preprocessing pipelines into full-stack applications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Technical Qualifications 
Core Programming & Frameworks (Any or All) 
. Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, Java, and SQL.
. Front-End: Modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
. Back-End: Frameworks like .NET, Node.js, or Java SpringBoot.
. Development Environments: Familiarity with modern IDEs such as VS Code, Visual Studio, or IntelliJ.

Software Engineering Practices & Automated Testing 
. Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with modern automation testing tools like Selenium or Playwright. Hands-on working experience with these tools is a definite plus.
. Design Principles: Understanding of core OOP concepts, structural Abstraction, and encapsulation to write clean, reusable code.
. Architecture: Familiarity with decoupling patterns, specifically Dependency Injection (DI) and Inversion of Control (IoC).
. Testing Methodologies: Awareness of industry-standard testing workflows such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing reliable unit tests.

Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) 
. Cloud Infrastructure: Fundamental understanding of cloud computing services and resource provisioning.
. Amazon Web Services (AWS): Exposure to core services like EC2, S3, Lambda, or RDS.
. Microsoft Azure: Familiarity with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, or Blob Storage.
. Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Familiarity with Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, or Cloud Run.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation (Strong Plus) 
. Configuration Management: Exposure to configuration management tools like Ansible.
. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Terraform and dry-run wrappers like Terragrunt.
. System Imaging: Basic exposure to system imaging, container construction, or machine image bakery tools (e.g., Packer, Docker, or cloud-native image builders).

Version Control & CI/CD Pipelines 
. Source Control: Strong Git SCM skills, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
. Automation: Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and coded pipelines like GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, or AWS Code Pipeline.

AI & Data Science Integration (Preferred) 
. Model Understanding: Deep fundamental or hands-on understanding of AI model optimization, training, iterative testing, and performance validation.
. Data Preprocessing: Awareness of preprocessing techniques for unstructured data utilizing Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Soft Skills & Professional Attributes 
. Continuous Learner: Highly adaptable mindset with a proven ability to pick up new programming languages, frameworks, and cloud services quickly.
. Problem Solver: Analytical approach to troubleshooting application bugs and optimizing multi-cloud performance.
. Communicator: Clear verbal and written skills to work effectively within an agile team environment.

Education & Experience 
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field, OR equivalent practical portfolio experience.
. 0–3 years of professional software development experience (including internships, co-ops, or significant open-source cloud, QA automation, or DevOps projects).
