Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining and meeting at the Baymont by Wyndham Red Deer and Conference Centre. To ensure professional set-up/service/close down of functions achieving standards of the service and guest care required by the company policy and by law.

General Responsibilities

· Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted.

· To organize food and liquor set-up for each function in accordance with the banquet sheet.

To Set up and tear down and clean after events (Ability to lift 50lbs)

· Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and rely that information to the appropriate personnel.

· Pass any information that is needed to the next staff member on duty.

· Ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of all banquet equipment.

· Ensure there is proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning.

· Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the catering department.

· Keep inventory of all catering department equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas.

· Makes staff assignments.

· To conduct/assist in pre-function briefings.

· Coordinate food service between the kitchen and the banquet servers.

· Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.

· To assist in controlling the floor or run specific banquets as delegated achieving standards of service and guest care required by company policy

· Maintain clear and open communication between all staff members for overall event success

· Follow Health and Safety practices at all times

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Night shift

Experience:

• Catering & Events Set up: 1 year (preferred)
• serving: 1 year (preferred)
