Position Overview:
Westerner Park is seeking a reliable, adaptable, and service-oriented General Service Supervisor to join our Event Delivery team. The General Service Supervisor works closely with Event Services, other supervisors, clients, contractors, vendors, and the Assistant Manager, Event Delivery to deliver efficient, consistent, and professional event operations. The position supports a positive client and guest experience by responding to operational needs and resolving issues within the scope of the role. 

Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Event Delivery, the General Service Supervisor is responsible for the following: 
General and Supervisory Duties

• Provide day-to-day supervision and directions to Event Delivery employees during assigned shifts and events.
• Assign and prioritize work based on event requirements, staffing, timelines, and operational needs.
• Provide coaching, instruction, feedback, and support to employees.
• Support employee onboarding, training, and required certifications.
• Identify and escalate performance, training, safety, and staffing concerns as required.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and safe work practices.

Event Operations and Customer Service

• Coordinate and oversee event setup, operational support, teardown, and venue resets.
• Ensure setups are completed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEO), floor plans, operational instructions, and established timelines.
• Coordinate staff assignments and operational priorities throughout assigned events.
• Maintain a visible and approachable presence during events and respond to operational issues as they arise.
• Work collaboratively with Event Services, clients, contractors, vendors, and other departments to address event requirements.
• Provide professional, responsive, and solution-focused service to clients, guests, and event stakeholders, and escalate issues when required.
• Support a positive event experience by identifying needs and taking appropriate action.
• Ensure event spaces are clean, safe, functional, and presentation ready.
• Support facility opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Communicate operational issues, changes, delays, and resource requirements to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

Equipment, Inventory and Operational Areas

• Monitor event equipment, janitorial supplies, consumables, small tools, and other Event Delivery resources.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, organizing, and distributing operational supplies.
• Maintain inventory, equipment, and asset records as required and identify damaged, missing, or replacement equipment.
• Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or repair requirements.
• Ensure Event Delivery storage, work areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, organized, safe, and appropriately secured.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts, and other equipment required to support event operations, as trained and certified.

Safety and Administration

• Support compliance with organizational safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Address immediate safety concerns and escalate significant concerns as required.
• Complete or assist with incident reporting and workplace investigations as assigned.
• Maintain required operational, training, inventory, and event documentation.
• Assist with monitoring departmental supplies and operating costs.
• Provide information to the Assistant Manager to support operational planning and budget preparation.
• Perform other related duties as required to support Event Delivery operations.

Here is What You Bring

• Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience required. 
• Experience in event setup, venue operations, or a related operational environment preferred. 
• Experience supporting employee training or onboarding is an asset. 
• Experience managing inventory, equipment, supplies, and operational resources preferred. 
• Demonstrated ability to provide direction, coaching, and support to employees. 
• Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts, and other operational equipment required. 
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a minimum of three years of driving experience. 
• Current First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain. 
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and operational systems. 
• Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to meet required equipment certification, safety training, and organizational screening requirements.
