Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to meet quality and presentation standards. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to maintain efficient service and ensure compliance with food safety practices.

Main Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, marinating and portioning according to recipes and production needs.
- Cook menu items on grills, stovetops, ovens and other kitchen equipment while monitoring temperatures and cooking times.
- Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment and storage areas; follow sanitation and hygiene procedures.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, rotate stock, track inventory levels and minimize food waste.
- Coordinate with chefs and front-of-house staff to expedite orders, accommodate special requests and support menu changes.
Requirements
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary training or certificate is an asset.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation practices and temperature control procedures.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production sheets and plating instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a kitchen team.
