Internet/BDC Sales Manager

Steeltown Ford is looking for an Internet / BDC Sales Manager who is passionate about automotive sales, technology, lead generation and turning opportunities into appointments and sales.

This is not a traditional BDC management role. You will own and lead our Internet and AI lead program, becoming the go-to person for everything related to digital leads, AI-driven customer engagement, response times, follow-up and appointment conversion.

You will live and breathe the numbers, constantly looking for ways to improve how we respond to customers, how we use AI, and ultimately how we turn more Internet opportunities into showroom visits and vehicle sales.

Responsibilities

• Own the dealership's AI and Internet lead program, ensuring leads are being worked, followed up with and converted effectively.

• Monitor lead volume, response times, appointment rates, show rates and sales conversion on a daily basis.

• Manage and continuously improve our AI lead engagement and follow-up strategies.

• Train, coach and hold Sales Consultants and BDC staff accountable for proper lead handling and follow-up.

• Develop and implement processes that maximize speed-to-lead, customer engagement and appointment generation.

• Review lead activity and performance data to identify opportunities, trends and areas for improvement.

• Work closely with Sales Management and other departments to ensure a seamless transition from online inquiry, to showroom visit, to sale.

• Continuously test new strategies, messaging, technology and processes to improve Internet sales performance.

• Ensure CRM and lead-management processes are being followed consistently and accurately.

• Stay on top of emerging AI, automotive technology and digital sales trends and bring new ideas to the dealership.

• Provide regular reporting and recommendations to dealership leadership on Internet and BDC performance.

Qualifications

• Automotive sales or BDC experience with a strong understanding of the Internet sales process.

• Highly comfortable with AI, technology, CRM systems and digital sales tools.

• Strong understanding of lead follow-up, appointment setting and online customer engagement.

• Analytical and comfortable working with KPIs, reporting and performance data.

• Strong communication, organization and follow-up skills.

• Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Hands-on approach with a willingness to live and breathe the Internet and AI lead process every day.
