ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager - Building Services, the Maintenance I is responsible for maintaining grounds, installing, troubleshooting, moving, and repairing building components, property, equipment, and fixtures throughout the St. Joseph's Care Group sites. Also included are maintenance of various types of equipment that provide heat, light, power, and other utility services for the buildings.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Minimum secondary school diploma

Skills/Abilities:

• Strong computer skills with the ability to access information, update preventative maintenance records, and assist with equipment troubleshooting.

• Excellent reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.

• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Physically capable of performing job duties, including walking, bending, lifting, reaching, carrying, and crawling.

• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Assets:

• Related similar job experience with relevant maintenance courses or credentials would be an asset
• A minimum five years of work experience in an institutional or health care setting would be an asset

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
• Valid Ontario driver's license: Class G
