Salary :

CGHSP24 (CAD24.32 - CAD26.68 per hour) plus applicable Labrador Allowance.

The primary purpose of this position is to work as a member of a nursing team under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse providing a high standard of care to patients at the Long-Term Care and in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice. The employee is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for clients, families, co-workers and themselves and reports to the Resident Care Manager.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized Personal Care Program or equivalent.

Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with Meditech is an asset.

Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support).

Completion of Gentle Persuasive Approach Course (GPA) or willingness to complete.

Completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior Course (MOAB) or willingness to complete.

The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

Providing nursing care to patients.

Responds to emergency and situation and codes.

Assist with the orientation of new staff.

Documents according to organizational policies and unit guidelines.

Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities.

Transports clients and specimens.

Other related duties as required.
