Job Description — Litigation Associate
Department: Litigation
Team: Commercial Litigation
A law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Litigation department. This role supports a broad range of commercial litigation matters and is ideal for a lawyer with strong advocacy, drafting, and file management skills who is looking to continue building a sophisticated litigation practice.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial litigation files from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motion materials, correspondence, and other litigation documents
Attend court appearances, discoveries, mediations, and hearings
Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on litigation matters
Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
Assist with preparing cases for trial, including organizing evidence and coordinating witnesses
Manage deadlines, court filings, and ongoing file administration
Support senior lawyers on complex commercial disputes and litigation strategy
Qualifications
3+ years of commercial litigation experience
Strong knowledge of civil procedure and litigation processes
Experience drafting litigation materials and managing files independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Experience attending motions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings preferred
Additional Information
This role involves a broad commercial litigation practice with exposure to a variety of industries and disputes
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and client interaction
