The Role

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategic evolution of the Auth0 Platform Infrastructure. In this highly visible, high-impact leadership role, you will be the visionary force behind the core infrastructure, consumption models, and platform capabilities that power Auth0’s immense global scale.

You will own the multi-year strategy for critical platform pillars, with a heavy emphasis on redefining our rate-limiting and platform consumption frameworks. As a Principal product leader, you will navigate multi-dimensional scaling challenges (including the paradigm shift of autonomous AI agents), influence executive stakeholders, and ensure our platform remains the most resilient, secure, and performant identity solution for the world’s largest enterprises.

What You’ll Do

• Drive the Long-Term Platform & Consumption Strategy: Define and own the multi-year roadmap for Auth0’s core infrastructure. Align deeply technical platform architecture with broader business objectives, Go-To-Market strategies, and overarching revenue goals.


• Spearhead the Strategic Evolution of Rate Limits & Monetization: Transform rate limits from a protective mechanism into a core business strategy. Pioneer dynamic consumption models, proactive policy-aware observability, and intelligent throttling strategies that align platform costs with customer value, reduce escalations, and unlock new SKUs.


• Architect Global Cloud Resilience & Scale: Champion overarching initiatives for cloud architecture, including Tierless private cloud transitions, Geo HA failover mechanisms, and service-only failovers to guarantee "four nines" reliability while optimizing infrastructure COGS.


• Define the Future of AI Agent Identity & MCP: Lead the industry-level infrastructure strategy for Model Context Protocol (MCP) enablement. Define the standards for how autonomous LLMs and AI agents securely authenticate, consume platform resources at scale, and invoke APIs without destabilizing core human-identity traffic.


• Lead Cross-Organizational Alignment: Serve as the strategic bridge between Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Go-To-Market leadership. Influence without authority across multiple domains, driving consensus among senior engineering leaders and C-level executives.


• Champion Compliance as a Market Differentiator: Ensure infrastructure strategies proactively anticipate stringent global security frameworks , turning security and compliance by design into a competitive advantage for enterprise sales.

What You Bring

• Experience: 8–10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years operating at a Principal, Group, or Lead level. Extensive experience managing highly complex, high-scale infrastructure, platform, or deeply backend products at an enterprise SaaS company.


• Strategic Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and infrastructure monetization. Proven track record of turning technical constraints (like rate limits and data streaming) into customer-facing value and revenue drivers.


• AI & Next-Gen Tooling Vision: Forward-looking expertise in the Model Context Protocol (MCP), agentic workflows, and securing high-velocity machine-to-machine (M2M) communications at a massive scale.


• Advanced Technical Fluency: Ability to spar with Principal Architects and Engineering Directors on complex topics such as serverless scaling, API gateways, deterministic vs. probabilistic rate-limiting algorithms, and high-availability (HA) database topologies.


• Business & Analytical Acumen: Strong data-driven approach to platform economics. Experience defining operational SLAs, managing infrastructure margins (COGS), and structuring pricing/packaging around platform consumption.


• Executive Leadership: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex architectural shifts into compelling business cases for the C-suite, while simultaneously providing crisp, actionable requirements to engineering.

Bonus Points Prior experience driving multi-million dollar infrastructure monetization strategies, deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), or leading the architectural shift from legacy cloud models to tierless/serverless architectures.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$173,000 - $237,000 CAD
