One of the largest real estate and development companies in Canada has an urgent need for a Project Manager, Finance Transformation, to join their team in Edmonton.
Your new role
The Finance Transformation Project Manager leads and executes the systems and process transformation initiatives, run out of the Office of the CFO. The role requires strategic planning, stakeholder management, and disciplined delivery of projects that align with the CFO's transformation agenda and the broader goals of the company. The Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle across finance systems and process change, driving efficiency, control, and digital enablement, and is responsible for planning, organizing, resourcing, and directing each project so that it meets its intended goals on time, on budget, and within scope and quality.
What you'll need to succeed
Technical and Business Skills
- Strong understanding of finance systems, ERP, data platforms, automation, and emerging technology relevant to a modern finance function.
- Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Ability to analyze business and finance processes and align technology solutions to improve efficiency and control.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Asana, Azure DevOps, or JIRA.
Leadership and Communication
- Ability to drive change in a complex, multi-division environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging executives, finance teams, and vendors.
- Negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to manage project challenges and hold stakeholders to commitments.
Problem-Solving and Decision Making
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to navigate roadblocks.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure while balancing multiple priorities.
Collaboration and Adaptability
- Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, IT, the divisions, and external partners.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technology and business needs.
