Complex Claims Director at Definity

Elevate your legal career as a Complex Claims Director with Definity, managing diverse claims in our innovative environment. This hybrid role focuses on collaboration and delivering exceptional customer service. As a Complex Claims Director, you will be a qualified lawyer with a focus on Financial Lines claims, including cyber liability and executive liability. You will leverage your negotiation skills and legal expertise to effectively manage complex claims while collaborating with underwriting and claims teams. Your impact will be crucial in achieving superior resolution outcomes and maintaining high coverage standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct coverage analysis and investigations for high-severity claims
- Prepare management reports detailing exposure and strategies
- Manage payments and monitor outside counsel for litigation matters
- Answer legal questions impacting underwriting decisions
- Draft complex legal documents and negotiate settlements
- Juris Doctor (LLB/JD) and current legal qualification
- Bilingual in French and English
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience in claims
- Experience in Financial Lines insurance preferred
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills
