Who we are
At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe education is more than the pursuit of knowledge – it is a catalyst for transformation. Our mission, grounded in democratizing education, is to create access for learners from every background and empower them to achieve their aspirations and advance their careers.
We are committed to delivering rigorous, flexible programs that are both personally fulfilling and professionally rewarding, while contributing to the betterment of society. Since 2004, Yorkville has been among Canada’s few private, for-profit, fully accredited degree-granting universities, with campuses in Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick. Together with Toronto Film School, we offer creative and academic pathways at both the college and university levels, cultivating a multidisciplinary environment where innovation and the arts converge.
Our community is vibrant and diverse. Many of our learners are adults balancing education with careers and personal commitments. Every member of our team – whether in teaching, operations, or technology – is dedicated to removing barriers and expanding access. Together, we deliver flexible, industry-informed learning that leads to meaningful opportunities.
At our core is human connection – guiding people to reimagine their futures in a community defined by opportunity, creativity, and growth.
Who we need
Reporting to the Principal & VPA BC Campus, we are hiring an Office Manager. As our new Office Manager, you will be the visible, on-site leader responsible for creating a welcoming, well-run environment where employees, visitors, and partners can thrive. You will bring together office operations, facilities coordination, events, and community engagement under one cohesive function, ensuring the site runs smoothly while fostering collaboration across the organization.
This is a full time on-site role based in New Westminster, BC.
What’s in it for you
Purpose beyond the workplace. Every role at Yorkville University contributes to creating an exceptional learning experience. While your focus will be on leading campus operations, your work will directly support the students, faculty, and staff who rely on a safe, welcoming, and well-run environment to learn, teach, and thrive. You will play an important role in helping deliver on our mission of expanding access to education and empowering learners to achieve their goals.
A culture built on collaboration and growth. You will join an organization that values purposeful curiosity, inclusive leadership, and continuous improvement. Working closely with leaders across the BC campus and the broader university, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, contribute ideas, and shape how the campus experience continues to evolve. Your contributions will be visible, valued, and encouraged.
An opportunity to grow with us. As Yorkville University continues to expand, so do the opportunities for our people. You will deepen your leadership and operational expertise while gaining exposure to facilities, events, community engagement, and people leadership. You'll also have access to tuition-free courses across Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, supporting your professional development and lifelong learning.
As our new Office Manager, you will:
- Lead office operations. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy campus, ensuring the workplace is welcoming, organized, and running efficiently. Acting as the central point of coordination, you will bring together office operations, facilities, events, and administrative support, creating consistency across functions and ensuring issues are addressed proactively.
- Solve operational challenges. You will take ownership of facilities coordination by responding quickly to building issues, working with vendors, and managing repairs and maintenance activities. Whether coordinating external service providers or resolving minor issues yourself, you will focus on finding practical solutions that minimize disruption and keep operations moving.
- Lead and support your team. You will manage and develop a small front desk and administrative team, providing coaching, guidance, and clear direction while fostering a collaborative, service-focused culture. You will ensure the team is equipped to deliver an exceptional experience for employees, visitors, and partners every day.
- Coordinate events and workplace experiences. You will oversee the logistics for meetings, special events, and larger organizational initiatives, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure every detail is thoughtfully planned and executed. Your work will help create engaging experiences that strengthen connection and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Build relationships and drive collaboration. You will work closely with leaders and teams across the organization while also maintaining relationships with local organizations and community partners. Through your approachable, solutions-oriented style, you will strengthen communication, encourage collaboration, and help create an environment where people feel supported and connected.
You bring:
- The leadership. You have experience leading and developing administrative or operational teams, creating an environment where people feel supported, accountable, and empowered to do their best work. You lead by example, communicate openly, and foster collaboration across teams.
- The operational expertise. You have successfully managed the day-to-day operations of a busy office or workplace, balancing competing priorities while ensuring people, processes, and resources come together seamlessly. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating multiple responsibilities at once.
- The problem-solving mindset. You approach challenges with curiosity, resourcefulness, and a solutions-first attitude. Whether coordinating vendors, resolving facilities issues, or improving operational processes, you are comfortable taking ownership, making informed decisions, and following through to resolution.
- The relationship-building skills. You build trust quickly and communicate effectively with people at all levels of an organization and with external partners. You are approachable, collaborative, and enjoy creating positive experiences through thoughtful service and proactive communication.
- The adaptability. You enjoy variety and are comfortable shifting between strategic planning and hands-on execution. You are equally confident leading a team, organizing an event, coordinating operational priorities, or stepping in to help wherever needed to keep things running smoothly.
