Under the direction of the Manager, Support Operations, the Supply Chain Sustainability Lead, MP4, will execute Supply Chain sustainability related initiatives and programs to help enable Hydro One to achieve its sustainability goals. The Sustainability Lead will also act as the Indigenous Procurement Champion and will lead internal initiatives to grow Hydro One's Indigenous supplier base and procurement spend.

:

• Compile and maintain Indigenous business database. Identify key stakeholders from communities and businesses who may have an interest in doing business with Hydro One (e.g. Chiefs, Economic Development Officers etc). Research community interests, existing businesses and businesses in development within the community.
• Support Management in the development and execution of Supply Chain Sustainability initiatives (e.g. reporting/tracking of environmental KPIs, designing supplier surveys, maintenance of Supply Chain Code of Conduct etc).
• Prepare a range of written documents and communication pieces to inform/educate stakeholders about Supply Chain activities/projects. Respond to written enquiries and document consultation process in reports for the purposes of regulatory proceedings and management briefings, including emails, reports, notes of meeting etc
• Attend team meetings for projects and Indigenous community issues. Represent Supply Chain viewpoints in discussions of local project requirements and strategies to address issues.
• Assist Management in implementing sustainability programs including Indigenous Procurement, Supplier Diversity, and other ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) related initiatives. Prepare supporting documents and materials for discussions and meetings with key audiences.
• Provide a communications link between key community and supplier stakeholders and Hydro One's Supply Chain and other Line of Business staff. Ensure information exchange is conducted in a timely manner and updates are provided on a regular basis. Document all correspondence, written and oral.
• Respond to telephone or email enquiries from the businesses or communities when they show interest or concern in matters related to ESG activities or issues.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the Sustainability and Indigenous Relations industry.
• Provide monthly quantitative reporting for sustainability KPIs (e.g. Indigenous Spend, environmental metrics, Non-Financial Indicators), including variance explanations and forecasts.
• Represent Hydro One externally at conferences, events, committees (e.g. Indigenous Economic Development conferences, etc)
• Represent Supply Chain in Working Groups such as the Climate Adaptation Working Group, etc
• Coordinate and facilitate Indigenous Procurement Working Group
• Contribute to corporate ESG initiatives such as Sustainable Financing Framework, Annual Sustainability Report, executive level Sustainability Committee, etc.
• Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

Education

• Requires a knowledge of operations and business acumen to evaluate and interpret trends and business opportunities.
• Requires a good knowledge of English and communication skills to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of management, community leaders and internal stakeholders. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years).

Experience

• Requires experience in such fields as Supply Chain, Sustainability, community relations to be able to prepare information sessions and push forward Hydro One initiatives.
• Requires experience in influencing and managing relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Requires experience in purchasing and payment processes.
• Requires experience managing sensitive issues in an often highly charged, political/environment.
• Requires experience identifying conflicting and emerging issues that may impact the company's objectives and corporate reputation.
• Requires experience with communications plans, tactics and products.
• Requires experience working with management teams and senior executives. A period of over 8 years and up to and including 10 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
