Nanny Wanted - Full Time Nanny Allergy Family

We are looking for a caring and detail-oriented Early Childhood Educator / nanny to join our family, taking care for our 5-year old son and 20 month old daughter with extensive anaphylactic and FPIES allergies. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and leading enriching developmental activities for our children; taking them to a range of early childhood programs; and managing food allergies with parental support. We are a busy household of professionals, doing hybrid work in a lovely corner of Burlington, next to greenspace and a range of child-geared activities. We are looking forward to finding someone who loves to care for children, is willing to learn and take allergy management seriously, and can remain calm and act quickly in health scenarios, given our children's health risks. Key Responsibilities Childcare-based:

• Plan and lead enriching, age-appropriate educational activities in a fun and enthusiastic setting, similar to what would be provided at daycare.
• Exceptional time management skills with small children, able to adhere to strict daily routine.
• Take kids to kindergarten and to early years programs (driving and participation).

Effective discipline management · Light tidying, laundry and child meal planning and preparation. Allergy-based:

• Support parent-guided food trials and monitor children for potential allergic reactions (with parent in home);
• Document all foods ingested, diapers and any symptoms in family app.
• Take exceptional care and attention to detail regarding food preparation (for children and self), to avoid any accidental exposures or cross-contamination to allergens.
• Carefully monitor children's allergy safety outside the home (e.g., at activities, at the park, etc.).
• Communicate daily health and behavioral observations to parents.

Mandatory Screening Criteria

• A minimum of 5 years of experience required. Experience with allergies is asset.
• Willingness to work in a fragrance free, allergen-free, hypoallergenic environment (including but not limited to dairy, eggs, tree nuts and peanuts, oats, rice and quinoa).
• Ability and willingness to support food trials (under parental supervision and guidance) maintain exceptional food cleanup practices and monitor progress on a daily basis.
• Ability to act quickly and appropriately in a crisis, in the case of serious allergic reactions requiring EMS attention.
• Willingness to work in a setting with limited cell phone use / screen time.
• Driver’s license, and clean driving record . Well-maintained vehicle to transport children to and from activities required 1-2 days per week. Family car can be used the rest of the time when available.
• Standard vaccinations required (for start date and on an ongoing basis).
• First Aid and CPR Level C.
• Criminal background check / vulnerable sector's check required.
• No sponsorship / ongoing immigration processes possible.
