Position Overview
The Junior to Intermediate Environmental Professional (Seasonal) is a field-focused role supporting environmental consulting, monitoring, and compliance programs during the peak field season (April to October). The position is suited to candidates with early to mid-career experience who are comfortable working in the field and are developing, or already demonstrating, the ability to take on increasing responsibility for project delivery.

This role has strong potential to be extended seasonally or transitioned to a full-time position based on performance, workload, and organizational needs.

Responsibilities:
Field and Project Support
• Participate in and support environmental field programs (e.g., wildlife and wildlife habitat, species at risk, vegetation and wetlands, fish and fish habitat, and environmental monitoring programs).
• Collect, record, and manage environmental data in accordance with approved protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Safely operate field equipment and vehicles in remote and industrial environments.
• Assist with or lead field tasks under the direction of a Project Manager or Environmental Lead.

Technical and Reporting Support
• Support preparation of technical deliverables, including data summaries, figures, tables, and report sections.
• Conduct literature reviews and background research for environmental assessments and regulatory submissions.
• Assist with permit condition tracking and compliance documentation.

Coordination and Professional Development
• Work collaboratively with project managers, senior environmental professionals, technicians and partner organizations.
• Support and mentor junior staff and students, as appropriate to experience level.
• Communicate professionally with clients, landowners, regulators and field partners when required.

Safety and Compliance
• Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and project-specific safety plans.
• Participate in safety orientations, tailgate meetings and hazard assessments.
• Proactively identify hazards and communicate safety concerns.
• Adhere to environmental regulations, permit conditions, and best management practices.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• Junior level: 0–2 years of relevant environmental field or consulting experience.
• Intermediate level: 2–5+ years of relevant environmental consulting or monitoring experience.
• Strong understanding of field data collection, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; and physically capable of completing field tasks safely, including hiking, carrying field equipment, and working in remote locations.
• Ability to work long field days (up to 12 hours) and extended field rotations (up to 14 days).
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); GIS or technical software experience is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required.
