Simply BBQ Catering & Event Party Rentals is seeking a dynamic and experienced BBQ Catering Event Manager to join our team for on-site event management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, has excellent customer service skills, and can oversee BBQ catering events from start to finish while overseeing members of the team on site. As part of this position, you will be required to hold both a Forklift Certification and a Food Handlers Safety Certificate.

Position Details

• Contract Duration: Starting June 2025 until October 2025, with the opportunity to apply for Unemployment Insurance until the next season begins.
• Work Schedule: Shifts can take place Mon-Sun (Daytime and Afternoons) Opportunity to do 40+ hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Required to drive company truck to event locations.
• Manage and oversee on-site BBQ catering events, ensuring smooth operation and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate logistics, including event set-up, BBQ grill operation, and ensuring the timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Supervise a team of event staff, providing direction and ensuring all tasks are carried out efficiently.
• Maintain inventory of BBQ equipment, food, and supplies, and organize orders as needed.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
• Communicate effectively with clients before and during events to ensure their needs are met.
• Ensure that all equipment is handled safely, including operating a forklift to move heavy items or set up catering stations.
• Over see and problem solve any issues on-site to ensure events run smoothly.
• Assist in always maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Wage: Starting at $23.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Additional Pay: Gratuities/Tips paid out monthly
• Vacation Pay included

Required Skills & Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is a MUST as you are required to drive a company truck to the events
• Forklift Certification required (We can provide and cover the cost)
• Food Handlers Safety Certificate required. (We will cover the cost)
• Prior experience in event management or BBQ catering preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies (up to 50 lbs)
