As the Event Coordinator (EC), you will play an integral role in supporting clients for all aspects of their event and the coordination of services ensuring a successful outcome. Your responsibilities will encompass consultation with the client, and the timely planning and communication of all service requirements. The Event Coordinator evaluates the client's needs and proposes solutions for food and beverage, set-up, and all other services provided by the Centre, and outside service providers. Banquet and menu planning are important components of the Event Coordinator's duties.

The successful candidate will have completed a post-secondary program in hospitality management or event planning, and experience in event management, catering, or operations, complimented with strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Candidate will have a strong working knowledge of computer systems and applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams. Knowledge of event management and floor plan programs would be considered an asset. The ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and a thorough working knowledge of event coordination and execution are critical requirements.

In this position, you will report directly to the Manager, Event Services, while also partnering closely with the Banquets team, and other members of the Events Services department. As an ambassador of the Centre, your collaboration will add to the successful execution of events while contributing to our local tourism industry.

This is a scheduled position, subject to flex time arrangements, with salary in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Convention Centre Corporation and the Canadian Union of Public Employees - Local 500.
