Heavy Civil Construction Director

Direct heavy civil construction delivery for Pomerleau, combining execution planning, contract administration, and strong field presence across Ontario or British Columbia. Lead complex projects from planning through closeout.This Project Director reports to the Senior Vice President, Major Projects, and manages multiple large-scale construction projects. Responsibilities span constructability, permits, drawings, specifications, tendering, construction methodologies, and closeout documentation. Success includes meeting project objectives for cost, schedule, quality, health and safety, and client satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:
Review constructability, budgets, schedules, client requirements, and value engineeringEnsure permits, authorizations, drawings, specifications, and legal documentationDevelop construction methodologies, safety activities, and project closeout manualsResolve disputes and claims with Project Managers and project teamsApprove project reviews, payments, and subcontractor and supplier transactionsRequirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineAt least 15 years with a general contractor on major projectsProven technically complex infrastructure project delivery experienceStrong construction management, execution planning, and contract administration expertiseResults-oriented strategic thinker with excellent field presenceUse heavy civil delivery expertise, constructability judgment, and project controls to guide Pomerleau’s complex construction programs.
