Senior Accounting Clerk (Term)

Job Responsibility:

Keyano College's Financial Services Department is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Accounting Clerk to join their team for a term position with the term ending date on June 30, 2025! Working closely with the Manager of Financial Reporting, this role is your gateway to handling the vibrant world of accounts payable, from corporate transactions to student payments, offering a thrilling full cycle experience. This is an onsite position located at Keyano College, Clearwater Campus.

What you'll be doing:

• Timely and accurate processing of monthly fixed asset transactions including additions, retirements and transfers.
• Monthly preparation of depreciation journal entry and associated working papers.
• Assist the Manger of Financial Reporting with Capital reports.
• Assist the Program Chair of Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) with billing, claims, budget and financial reports.
• Preparation of journal entries.
• Provide coverage for Cashier and Accounts Receivable.
• Participating in special ad hoc projects as assigned (e.g. capital budget and audit-related work).

Your accomplishments and dazzling proficiencies:

• Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' accounting experience in a professional business environment, preferably in post-secondary education or public practice.
• Knowledge of the accounting cycle and accounting terminology.
• Experience in account reconciliations, capital assets and financial reporting is required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and use established methods that are well defined or detailed to perform work defined by standard practice.
• Must be proficient with MS Office suite of software.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability is a must.

Nice to have:

Experience with Great Plains will also be considered an asset.
