Director of Purchasing

The ideal candidate will lead our purchasing team in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials to meet the company's operational needs efficiently.

Duties:
- Oversee purchasing of the entire grocery category for all departments
- Ensure proper market pricing is established and maintained to ensure competitiveness
- Implement a robust price shop process to ensure pricing reflects market conditions
- Work with our purchasing department to ensure we are setting up proper mins/max's and safety stock
- Ensure inventory turn targets are exceeded
- Source new products and supply relationships to align with our brand promise of "Farm Fresh, Local, where possible, food delivered to your door"
- Set up and ensure margin targets are met by category and work on cost of goods reductions in all categories
- Set up and establish rebate programs with suppliers and manage payment terms
- Reinforce great procurement practices using our ERP program
- Oversee product selection to ensure we are constantly reviewing our selection and adding/deleting items appropriately
Skills:
- Proficient in procurement processes, sourcing methods, and vendor management
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers
- Ability to analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions
- Experience in fabricating contracts that protect the company's interests
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles for seamless operations
