Senior Project Manager, Conveyance (Waterloo)

Job Overview

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Conveyance to join our Water team. This role can be based out of Toronto, Hamilton/Stoney Creek, Waterloo or London, with a hybrid work arrangement. The position focuses on leading and developing designs for technically challenging storm, sanitary, and watermain conveyance projects for clients within the Greater Toronto Area and Southwestern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage projects of high complexity, from small diameter sewers to large box culverts with complex utilities.
• Serve as the project’s point of contact with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
• Supervise the work of other engineers and designers, setting priorities for scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage project deliverables and schedules, providing leadership for civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach, supporting marketing and business development activities such as proposal writing, client interviews, and contract negotiations.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to supporting designers and developing professionals.
• Perform liaison with clients, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination activities to progress projects.

Capabilities & Credentials

• Demonstrated efficient project management and technical leadership on multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong understanding of design and construction codes, civil systems, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation is an asset.
• Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas effectively.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lead teams through all phases of a project and collaborate in a creative, critical‑thought environment.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist registered in Ontario. Minimum 15 years of project management experience in municipal conveyance design.

Pay

Locations Outside of Lower Mainland – BC & various locations in Ontario: $135,700.00 – $185,700.00 annually. Locations in Lower Mainland – BC, GTA & Ottawa: $136,300.00 – $204,500.00 annually. Pay ranges are provided in compliance with pay transparency laws; the final compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible.
