Project Engineer - Roadways and Highways (Waterloo)

Stantec is seeking a Transportation Engineer to work on projects in Hamilton or London, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct roadway design staff and manage multi‑discipline project teams.
• Lead financial management of projects, including budget forecasting, resource management, change‑order management, and client invoicing.
• Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules, and conduct ongoing business development and client liaison.
• Collaborate with Transportation Leaders and Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements.
• Support Stantec’s Quality Management System and promote the Environmental Health & Safety program.
• Ensure required project functions are satisfactorily performed.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.

Qualifications & Capabilities

• University or college degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in road design and construction.
• Skilled Engineer (P. Eng. or LEL) required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management or engineering design responsibilities.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and customer‑relationship skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads or Civil 3D software.
• Experience in report and proposal writing.
• Experience in roadway design.
• Typical office environment with prolonged computer use; field work may involve inclement weather.

Pay Range: $89,200 – $129,300 annually.
