Receptionist/Customer Service - Desjardins Insurance Office
Our team is growing, and we’re excited to welcome a new Reception & Customer Service professional to our office! With our current receptionist moving into a new internal role, we’re looking for someone who can step in as the warm, welcoming face of our organization.
Position Overview:
A successful Desjardins Agent is seeking a qualified professional to join their winning team for the role of Receptionist. We seek an energetic professional interested in helping our business grow through value-based conversations and remarkable customer experience. If you are a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, then this is your opportunity for a rewarding career with excellent income and growth potential. If you don't have insurance experience, that is ok, we will teach you.
Responsibilities:
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, customer support, and client management.
- Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
- Work with the agent to establish and meet marketing goals.
Requirements:
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and listening
- Proactive in problem-solving
- Dedicated to customer service
- Ability to multi-task
- Prior to start, selected candidate will have to obtain Other Than Life (OTL) Property and Casualty Certification

- Agency has 8 team members
- Team member tenure ranges from 24 to less then 1 year
- We are located in Newmarket, Ontario
- Our Agency has received many awards including: Council of Excellence, Silver Scroll, Ambassador Travel and Legion of Honor

Compensation:
- $40,000 base salary + bonus
These positions are with an independent contractor agent that is part of the Desjardins exclusive agent network, not with Desjardins Group or its subsidiaries. This agents’ employees are not employees of Desjardins. Independent contractor agents are responsible for and make all employment decisions regarding their employees.
