Parts Advisor

Royal Oak Nissan is looking to hire a Full-Time Parts Advisor!

As the Parts Advisor, you support the identification and coordination of parts for all internal and external customers. You are competent, trustworthy, and treat customers with respect and like a partner. You make a substantial contribution to the efficiency of the Parts Department while providing a high level of customer service and promoting the brand.

Job Duties

• Assist customers by phone or over the counter, providing consistent, high-level service
• Process daily customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions
• Assist technicians in identifying and determining the parts required for repairs
• Determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped
• Oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, organizing, storing, and issuing of parts, supplies, and equipment
• Ensure shipments are prepared and delivered in a timely manner
• Sort and place materials or parts on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, style, product code, or other predetermined sequences
• Properly label and mark materials with identifying information
• Record parts and materials received or distributed using the appropriate computer system
• Receive stock and non-stock items and verify specifications, quantities, and quality
• Provide necessary information to the Warranty Department to support the timely filing of parts warranties
• Assist with preparing for and completing physical inventory counts
• Prepare orders by pulling parts from stock or securing parts as required to meet delivery requirements
• Process reports, requisitions, paperwork, and other documentation as required
• Maintain an organized and orderly parts warehouse and work area
• Ensure parts and materials are stored accurately and efficiently

Requirements

• High school diploma
• One or two years of related Parts Advisor or Parts Counter experience
• Automotive parts knowledge is a definite asset
• PBS experience is an asset
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and email
• Ability to perform basic calculations and mathematical functions
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and a positive team attitude
• Overtime as required
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity required to use a desktop computer and peripherals

Hours of Work

Full-Time:   Monday–Friday day shifts with alternating Saturdays.

Compensation

Monthly Salary of $3,500 + 1.5% gross profit
