ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Product Development to join our team for a 12 Month contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced apparel environment and has experience managing the development process from concept through production. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, proactive problem-solver, and strong project manager who can effectively balance multiple priorities and collaborate across departments. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create accurate and comprehensive tech packages including the design and technical information provided by the design team
- Communication of tech packs, label packages and graphic templates to domestic and overseas vendors
- Receive and input quotes based on minimum order quantities
- Negotiate best costing based on the established business objectives
- Coordinate trim and embellishment development with information provided by the design team
- Co-create and co-manage sample/production calendars with production lead
- Communicate as necessary with vendors to ensure sampling is on track and issues are resolved in a timely manner. Off-hour communication as required within reason
- Work with design and production teams to communicate sample and spec comments/ revisions to vendors
- Clearly communicate production questions, issues and delays to design and production teams and present feasible solutions in a timely manner
- Maintain an active role in design meetings by preparing samples and design changes
- Participate in fittings to assess product changes and clearly communicate any cost or delivery impacts to cross-functional teams
- Facilitate, track and file sample approvals and comments completed by design team
- Coordinate with designers, graphics and technical to ensure all production requirements such as quality, colours, trims, graphic placement, fabrication and fit are met prior to production sign off
- Archive all updated and final tech packs/trim packages/strike offs/samples
- Implementation of trims and notion package guidelines with nominated suppliers
