CIBC Backend Developer for Digital Solutions

Join CIBC’s Direct Financial Services team in Toronto as a Backend Developer and lead mobile projects focused on Java and Microservices. Drive digital transformation while mentoring junior developers. This role is critical for CIBC’s evolution into digital banking. As a Backend Developer, you will implement enterprise-scale solutions and ensure success across main digital channels. You'll be responsible for API design and coding business logic while enhancing operational efficiency and mentoring junior developers. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead API design and development activities
- Advocate for continuous improvement in development processes
- Provide next-level support for operational tasks
- Troubleshoot performance issues effectively
- Mentor and coach junior developers on best practices
- 3+ years experience in Java/J2EE and Microservices
- Proficient in Spring/Spring Boot, APIs, and Web Services
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Cloud technologies
- Experience with Containerization tools like Kubernetes
- Solid team-oriented mindset and adaptability
