Expected Start Date: To be determined; posted until filled Union: HSAS Facility: Swift Current Community Services City/Town: Swift Current Department: Autism Spectrum Disorders ASD Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 224 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours Hours of work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Occupational Therapist - Degree $38.247 to $46.770 Travel Required: Yes Job : The Occupational Therapist - Degree is responsible for a clinical caseload and provides direct care to clients within the Autism program. The Occupational Therapist - Degree is required to provide appropriate assessment and treatment interventions to clients referred and is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of prescribed interventions with appropriate adjustment or discontinuation of service based on outcome measurement. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience- Experience working with clients with autism spectrum disorder is an asset.
Education
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
Knowledge and Abilities
- Require initiative/judgment to plan/apply/alter programs per client/program need
- Background of assessment and intervention of sensory processing is an asset
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Requires concentration and attention for treatment, teaching and report writing
- Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required
