Senior Advisor, Governance and IT Operational Resilience

A career as a Senior Advisor, Governance and IT Operational Resilience within the IT Operational Resilience team means providing leadership to a team responsible for advancing the Bank’s technology resilience posture.

You play a key role in establishing the direction, governance, oversight mechanisms and practices required to ensure the resilience of the technology services that support the organization’s critical operations.

Through your leadership, strategic vision and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, you help strengthen the Bank’s ability to prevent, absorb, respond to and recover effectively from disruptive events, while meeting regulatory expectations and organizational commitments. Your role

• Provide leadership to a team specializing in IT operational resilience and responsible for strengthening the stability, sustainability and reliability of technology services.
• Lead the implementation and operationalization of the IT operational resilience program.
• Leverage findings from problems, major incidents and recurring pain points to prioritize prevention, remediation and continuous improvement actions.
• Establish monitoring, prioritization and accountability mechanisms for recurring issues, operational vulnerabilities and risks affecting critical services.
• Continuously monitor the technology stability and resilience posture.
• Develop and maintain indicators, dashboards and oversight mechanisms to track the stability, resilience and sustainability of technology services.
• Collaborate with operations, delivery, architecture, risk and continuity teams to integrate stability, sustainability and resilience considerations into operational and technology decisions.
• Contribute to the evolution of the direction, frameworks, practices and governance mechanisms required for consistent management of IT operational resilience.
• Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Bank’s business units, supporting decision-making regarding risks related to the stability, continuity and sustainability of services.
• Represent the sector in governance forums, strategic programs and cross-functional initiatives that affect the Bank’s operational resilience.

Your team

Within the IT Operational Resilience team, you act as a practice leader on cross-functional matters related to the evolution, oversight and continuous improvement of the Bank’s technology resilience capabilities. You work closely with delivery, operations, risk management, cybersecurity and business continuity teams, as well as with various governance bodies, to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to operational resilience.

Requirements

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience structuring, leading and advancing complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders in a matrixed technology environment.
• Experience in governance, risk management, operational resilience, continuity, cybersecurity or technology operations.
• Strong understanding of technology resilience, operational stability and the risks that may affect critical services.
• Experience implementing technology governance, oversight and performance management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence managers and executives in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to thrive in a changing environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and the financial services industry is an asset.
