Finance Specialist

Hours of Work: Full-Time (35-40 hours per week) 
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon

Role Summary:

The Finance Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of all fuel tax accounts and assist in the development of processes and training for fuel tax and other accounting functions in addition to supporting other accounting functions and the required systems and software

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate accounting and supporting documents for reporting of fuel taxes


• Report and prepare PST and GST


• Reconciliation of all fuel tax accounts for both Chieftain and Air North


• Provide assistance for financial or regulatory audits


• Prepare various government reports as required


• Test and prepare new Intacct system processes

Must haves:

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent


• Minimum 4 years’ accounting experience.


• Diploma in accounting field or equivalent experience


• A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities


• Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support


• Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to haves:

• Experience working in a multi-company environment


• Previous aviation experience
