Research Coordinator - Forensic Research

The Forensic Division at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a part-time, contract (12 month) Research Coordinator.

This position will report directly to the Research Operations Manager, Clinical Research, and work closely with the study Principal Investigator. The primary research activities will be for a national research project related to justice-involved women.

Responsibilities

Specific duties include but are not be limited to: Research Ethics Board submissions and amendments, scheduling and running focus groups, conducting participant facing interviews, scheduling and supporting study meetings, liaising with participating study sites across Canada, and developing/modifying study processes and procedures when needed. Quality assurance monitoring of study data, maintaining the study regulatory binders, maintaining study databases, supporting with legal agreements and other administrative tasks will also be an important part of this role. Supporting grant submissions and manuscript writing may also be required. Other administrative duties may be involved, as required. The candidate will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West and may require travel to community sites.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in psychology, criminology, health science, or a closely related field combined with two (2) years of relevant research or clinical experience.

Previous experience working with experience working with either a forensic MH, civil psychiatric, and/or justice-involved (e.g., corrections) population is required

Prior research or service experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addiction issues is required for this position.

Previous experience and training in administration of structured clinical and cognitive assessments is an asset.

Previous experience with study monitoring and quality assurance is an asset.

Previous experience with submissions to Research Ethics Boards and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and appropriate conduct of research in human participants is necessary.

Previous experience maintaining and developing study logs and databases is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient with word processing, PowerPoint, and database software packages, including REDCap.

Experience conducting basic analyses using statistical packages (SPSS) and data interpretation, as well as the ability to manage large datasets is an asset.

Candidates should be highly detail-oriented and be able to exercise initiative and good judgment.

The successful candidate should have well-honed time management skills with the ability to efficiently multi-task and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting program deadlines. Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects is ideal.

Candidate requires the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Salary Range: $37.51 - $50.60 per hour .
