Director, Cybersecurity & Technology Services

About the Job

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, Cybersecurity & Technology Services translates AIGC’s enterprise technology strategy and organizational priorities into practical operating plans, service roadmaps, resource plans, and delivery priorities. The role provides leadership across cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud services, end-user technology, IT service delivery, operational resilience, vendor management, and technology risk.

The Director also works closely with AIGC executives, business leaders, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Human Resources, vendors, managed service providers, consultants, contractors, cloud providers, shared services, and other partners. The role builds trusted relationships, provides practical advice, and supports informed decision-making so that technology services and cybersecurity capabilities are aligned with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.

This position is based in-office in Edmonton and will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to support AIGC’s IT operations.

Who You Are

The Director, Cybersecurity and Technology Services is AiGC’s senior operational technology leader, responsible for the day-to-day delivery, management, and continuous improvement of two core portfolios: Cybersecurity and Technology Services. The role ensures systems and services are secure, reliable, resilient, and scalable to support organizational priorities and growth.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director translates enterprise technology strategy into practical operating plans, service roadmaps, and delivery priorities. The Director leads the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity and the Manager of Technology Services, establishing clear priorities, accountabilities, and escalation paths across both portfolios.

About the Role

In this role, you will own:

Cybersecurity Leadership and Risk Management

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the continued maturity of AiGC’s cybersecurity program
• Ensure cybersecurity risks, significant incidents, vulnerabilities, audit findings, and remediation activities are actively managed and appropriately escalated
• Support and hold the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity accountable for the effective day-to-day operation of the cybersecurity function
• Embed cybersecurity practices across systems, vendors, and operationsLead the ongoing development and maturity of AiGC’s cybersecurity program

Technology Services and Infrastructure Operations

• Ensure technology services are reliable, secure, and responsive
• Oversee cloud, network, identity, endpoint, and collaboration environments
• Drive service performance, resilience, and continuous improvement

Vendor, Budget, and Resource Management

• Manage a blended model of internal teams and external service providers
• Oversee budgets, procurement, contracts, and cost optimization
• Monitor vendor performance and address service risks and issues

Governance and Service Maturity

• Establish and enhance IT governance, standards, and service management practices
• Translate strategy into operational plans, roadmaps, and priorities
• Promote automation, digital-first delivery, and efficiency

Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead and develop the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity and Risk and Manager, Technology Services
• Establish clear accountabilities, decision-making authority, and escalation paths that enable leaders to operate with appropriate autonomy
• Provide strategic and operational advice to the CIO
• Build strong relationships across the organization and with external partners

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles
• Experience leading cybersecurity and enterprise technology operations
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud services, infrastructure, IT service management, and enterprise risk
• Proven ability to translate strategy into operational execution
• Experience managing vendors, budgets, and complex delivery models
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading through managers or senior technical leaders, establishing clear accountabilities, enabling appropriate autonomy, and maintaining effective oversight of operational performance, risks, and escalations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in public sector, Crown corporations, or regulated industries
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and IT service platforms
• Experience supporting audit, compliance, and risk management activities
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience planning
• Experience with responsible AI, automation, or emerging technology risk management.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ITIL, COBIT, PMP, or related credentials.
