Restaurant Manager

Location: River Rock Casino Resort, Richmond, BC
Position: Full-Time

KOI is a contemporary waterfront Japanese restaurant located inside River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC. We offer Japanese cuisine, sushi, cocktails, and a unique dining experience overlooking the marina.

We are currently looking for an experienced and hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead our day-to-day restaurant operations and help drive the next stage of KOI’s growth.

This is not a desk-based management position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being actively involved on the floor, leading the team, solving problems, maintaining operational standards, and taking ownership of restaurant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily restaurant and FOH operations
• Manage, train, schedule, and supervise FOH employees
• Maintain strong service standards and guest experience
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen and management team
• Monitor reservations, guest flow, table utilization, and daily sales performance
• Execute promotions, VIP programs, dining initiatives, and special events
• Build and maintain strong relationships with casino and hotel guests
• Identify opportunities to increase traffic, average guest spending, beverage sales, and repeat business
• Monitor labour, operating costs, inventory, waste, discounts, voids, comps, and other controllable expenses
• Ensure accurate daily cash-out, closing records, sales reporting, and operational reports
• Oversee liquor inventory and FOH inventory controls
• Maintain accurate POS, reservation, and guest information
• Monitor and respond appropriately to guest feedback and online reviews
• Ensure compliance with liquor regulations, food safety requirements, company policies, and operating procedures
• Handle employee issues professionally and escalate matters when appropriate
• Work closely with Administration and Accounting to ensure required operational records and reports are completed accurately and on time

What We’re Looking For

• Previous restaurant management experience; upscale or full-service restaurant experience preferred
• Strong FOH leadership and team-management skills
• Hands-on and comfortable working directly on the restaurant floor
• Strong understanding of restaurant sales, labour, inventory, cash controls, and cost management
• Strong organizational and reporting skills
• Able to identify problems and follow through until they are resolved
• Guest-focused with strong communication skills
• Comfortable working in a structured environment with clear company policies and reporting requirements
• Experience with Japanese restaurants, hotels, casinos, or high-volume restaurants is an asset
• Experience with Yelp and OpenTable is an asset
• Serving It Right certification required
