Engineering Design Technologist

Job Responsibility:

Pharaoh Engineering Ltd. provides engineering services for industrial, commercial & residential clients throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba . The job entails:

• Work with the engineer(s) and alongside colleagues, actively supporting the development of civil, structural or mechanical designs ensuring efficient and sustainable project delivery.
• Reinforce the development of standards related to engineering drawings, ensuring best practices for project design and delivery.
• Prepares preliminary schematics and layouts as directed by senior team members.
• Performs code reviews including energy code.
• Reviews drawings for interference with other disciplines.
• Prepares and modifies drawings during design and construction while ensuring the drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards, while working with project team members.
• Perform inspections as required.
• Prepare reports to support inspections.
• Utilizes industry specific software and related technologies in design.
• When necessary, involvement with a variety of agencies for project approvals and permitting purposes.
• Successfully develops relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel.
• Meet with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of technical issues, when required.
• Conducts necessary research to gather industry, field and project specific data.
• Other duties, as required.

Job Requirements:

• 2 year post-secondary Diploma in Eng. Drafting Design or Civil Eng. Tech,
• Proficient drafting in 2D and 3D software packages (Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD etc...).
• Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Word & Excel.
• Valid class 5 or higher drivers license.
• Ability to work well independently or part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated and responsible.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary environment.
• Prefer 2-5 years experience but will consider recent graduates with the right skills.

This role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
