Communications Intern - Summer Student

Job Responsibility: Communications Intern - Summer Student Temporary Contract - 1 FTE (June to August) Thunder Bay Site One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services. We are currently seeking a contract 1 FTE Communications Intern, who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team will who will work closely with the Communications Lead and the Chief Executive Officer to provide communications assistance to the Thunder Bay, Kakabeka, Armstrong and Longlac sites. The Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is an optional benefit. Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a student and interest in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence in use of WordPress, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram
• Creative mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel/MS Word).
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment** and
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulation.
