Mine Planning Engineer - PL#17067

The Mine Planning Engineer will support underground mine planning, design, scheduling, and operational activities at an active mining operation. This role will work closely with operations and technical services teams to develop practical mine plans that support safe and efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short- and mid-range underground mine plans and schedules.
• Prepare monthly and three-month mine plans to support operational requirements.
• Develop mine physicals for budgets, forecasts, and longer-term planning.
• Complete underground mine designs and incorporate required design changes.
• Support drill and blast planning and prepare construction and production prints.
• Monitor mine performance and complete month-end reporting and analysis.
• Conduct overbreak and other mine performance analysis.
• Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support cost estimates, forecasts, and operational planning.
• Work closely with operations, geology, engineering, and other site teams to coordinate upcoming work.
• Participate in technical studies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure planning and engineering activities meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

This position is based near Kamloops, British Columbia , supporting an active mining operation. The role offers flexibility in schedule, with options including a 4x3 schedule (Monday–Thursday) or a 5x2 schedule (Monday–Friday) , depending on project requirements.

The compensation range is $120,000–$140,000 annually , based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance is also considered.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eligible for or registered P.Eng. with EGBC.
• 5+ years of underground mining experience.
• Experience in underground mine planning and operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Deswik mine planning software.
