Operations Manager

The Role
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of operational performance across a commercial glazing contractor, supporting leadership in improving systems, reporting, forecasting, and cross-department coordination. The role is focused on building structure, improving visibility of project performance, and driving accountability across fabrication, project management, procurement, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support overall operational planning and execution across the business
- Improve reporting, KPI tracking, and operational visibility
- Support project forecasting, cost tracking, and cost-to-complete reporting
- Coordinate communication between project management, fabrication, finance, and the field team
- Monitor project performance, labour productivity, procurement status, and risk
- Support workforce planning and resource allocation
- Assist with the implementation of systems, processes, and operational tools
- Manage external service providers (HR, recruiting, IT, software, consultants, training providers)
- Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
- Contribute to building structure and accountability across the organization
Requirement
- Experience in a construction or specialty contracting environment
- No background in glazing, building envelope, roofing, mechanical, electrical, steel, or similar sectors
- Experience in roles such as Operations Manager, Construction Manager, Project Manager, or General Superintendent
- Strong understanding of construction operations, forecasting, and project control
- Experience with reporting, KPIs, or operational systems is an asset
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to work across multiple departments and stakeholders
