Job Purpose:

The responsibilities of this role include the development of high-performing student-athletes and the establishment of a competitive team culture. The incumbent will be committed to providing hockey players with a comprehensive and enriching experience that integrates academic excellence with competitive athletics.

Highlighted responsibilities include:

Organisation

? Oversee all scheduling of games and trips for all levels (CSSHL U17, U18 D3, U15 D1, U15 D3, U14, development program) La version française suit.

? Oversee all teams, tryouts and cuts for both genders

? Oversee development program and plan practices to allow all players to improve skills

? Help organize all hockey tournaments for all levels for both boys and girls

? Help hire and train hockey coaches

? Ensure coaches are properly certified by HQ and lead sessions if needed

? Oversee all equipment orders and uniform orders and inventory

? Lead Hockey Québec player safety sessions

? Ensure that all players are properly registered with HQ, RSEQ, CSSHL in HCR

? Work closely with Athletic Director to ensure that standards of comportment and academics are consistent with those of the school and the athletics program

? Oversee all player development with student athletes from junior school players through to varsity level athletes Player Development

? Elevate individual player performance through structured, purposeful training and video review

? Lead all teams to compete at a high level regionally, provincially and nationally

? Foster a culture of accountability, resilience, and teamwork

? Guide athletes through the recruitment and placement process to the next level of hockey/school

? Actively support player transitions through mentorship, communication, and promotion

? Build strong relationships with students, families, faculty, and alumni

? Represent the hockey program and school with professionalism and pride

? Uphold and model school values, policies, and standards in all areas

? Execute efficient practice plans, video sessions, and team operations

? Ensure readiness of equipment and logistics to support high-performance routines

? Support overall program administration with initiative and precision

? Elevate individual player performance through structured purposeful training.

? Oversee logistics for travel for all hockey teams

Recruitment Working in close collaboration with Admissions:

? Advertise our program at showcases and other recruiting events

? Identify strategic and appropriate student-athletes for all levels for both genders

? Tour student-athletes and liaise with admissions

? Identify and recruit mission-appropriate, high-potential student-athletes

? Contribute to a strong retention rate by building trust and a positive team experience Off-Season Activities

? Oversee an off-season technical development program during the school year

? Coordinate a comprehensive off ice training program

Qualifications:

? Hockey Canada High Performance 1 certified

? High-level coaching or playing experience, with a proven ability to lead and inspire young athletes

? Experience working with teenagers and a player-first leadership style

? A minimum of 5 years of hockey coaching experience

? A strong knowledge of hockey development programs and delivery structures

? Successful past experience as a Head Coach and/or Development Coach

? Ability to work in a team environment and with volunteers

? Impeccable personal standards and integrity

? Strong communication and collaboration skills

? An understanding of the culture of independent schools.? Ability to work in both French and English.

? Strong hockey background in playing, coaching, and evaluating.

? Strong interest and commitment to child/athlete development.? Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

? Experience in staff management and development.
