Executive Leader with Songhees Nation

Take on the role of Executive Leader within Songhees Nation, where you'll oversee governance and strategic initiatives that empower the community. This full-time position is located in Greater Victoria and emphasizes collaborative leadership. As the Executive Leader, you will provide comprehensive leadership, ensuring the execution of Council’s strategic objectives and fostering community relations. Your experience in senior management and financial oversight will be essential for success in this dynamic role, where you will work closely with elected officials to manage resources effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain strategic meeting agendas with Council
- Develop annual budgets and financial strategies
- Set HR policies and oversee employee hiring and reviews
- Collaborate on operational plans that align with community goals
- Represent the Nation in community meetings and outreach
- Master’s degree in relevant fields preferred
- Minimum of 8 years in management roles
- 5 years leading in Indigenous contexts
- Understanding of First Nations regulatory environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
