Pharmasave #148 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Nelson, British Columbia.
This is a 12-month term position with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role.
Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll (training will be provided)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Schedule
- 36 - 40 hours per week (Full-time)
- The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- The regular shifts will be on weekdays, with occasional weekend flexibility as needed
