About the Role

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a seasonal Scale/Labourer to join our team in Nelson, BC. 

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all the necessary tools are ready to go on the appropriate trucks for the day ahead.
• Provide assistance to the concrete curb operator, concrete finisher and foreman to enable them to focus on their jobs.
• Assist in keeping all the equipment fueled, loaded and cleaned.

• Proficiency with computers, including data entry and basic software applications.

• Experience answering phones and providing professional customer service.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to take and follow direction.

• Other duties as required.  

Qualifications/Experience

• Junior position, no experience required
• Team player
• Willingness to take direction from others on the crew
• Ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently
• Ability to be self-motivated and work on their own

• Proficiency with computers, including data entry and basic software applications

• Experience answering phones and providing professional customer service

• Strong communication skills and the ability to take and follow direction

Working Conditions

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required
• Willing to work in field and in all weather conditions 
• Willing to work overtime (may include weekends) during the busy season (April to October) and on call as necessary. 
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• This is a safety sensitive position; selected candidate must pass drug and alcohol testing as required.

The anticipated wage range for this position is $25.18-$34.20/hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
