Community Safety and Well-Being Coordinator (One year Contract) - 1 Vacancy

REPORTS TO:           Community Safety and Well-Being   Supervisor 
LOCATION:                Initial Placement – Wincey Mills, Paris

Minimum Qualifications:

• Post Secondary School education in Community Development, Social Work, Human Services or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years of experience in community safety, social services, diversity and inclusion, or public sector administration.
• Working knowledge of Ontario’s CSWB frameworks, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and related legislation.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with experience in community engagement, public consultations, and delivering workshops or training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively across departments and communities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to prepare accessible documents and reports.
• Ability to travel between County offices and facilities as required.

Assets:

• Experience in grant writing and program development related to community safety and inclusion.
• Knowledge of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and community safety best practices, particularly those supporting vulnerable populations.
• Experience in a municipal or public sector environment.

Duties:

• Support implementation of the County’s Community Safety & Well-Being Plan (CSWB) and DEI Strategy, working with the Community Safety and Wellbeing Supervisor to advance key actions.
• Coordinate consultations, surveys, and public engagement activities to gather input from diverse and underrepresented groups and inform County safety and well-being priorities.
• Help organize internal and external workshops and training on diversity, inclusion, and community safety, supporting participation across community sectors.
• Collaborate with departments, external organizations, and community groups to promote safety and well-being initiatives and identify partnership and resource-sharing opportunities.
• Monitor relevant policies, legislation, and best practices to support compliance with human rights, accessibility, and equity standards.
• Prepare reports and presentations on CSWB Plan and DEI Strategy progress for County Council, staff, and community stakeholders.
• Develop communications and outreach materials on community safety and DEI in collaboration with Communications and Marketing.
• Coordinate and participate in community events and campaigns promoting safety, inclusion, and well-being.
• Support grant identification and applications to enhance County CSWB and DEI programs.
• Maintain records, project plans, and documentation for County community safety and inclusion initiatives.
• Perform additional duties that use your skills and align with the role to support County priorities for community safety and wellbeing, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Hourly Range: $34.05 – $39.83 per hour (Salary Grade 3), based on 35 hours per week.

Regular hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday; however, some flexibility and availability will be required for occasional evening or weekend work related to special events.
