CUBS Programmer

Job Responsibility:

An experienced programmer analyst who has experience with Columbia Ultimate Business Systems - The Collector System and jBase database software programming and configuration. This is a full-time position with a well-established company based in Montreal, QU and Markham, ON. In this role, you'll work with the companies CRM systems and play a pivotal role as the person who develops, administers and configures, and integrates enhancements to our CUBS platform.

• Help with customizing and maintaining CUBS Application and jBase database objects, including table spaces, tables, indexes, views etc. in development, test, production and disaster recover environments.
• Work with IT Services provider to perform database tuning. Require to have high level of proven competence with jBase database.

· Gathers technical requirements, plans, designs, tests, maintains and supports District databases and custom web-based software applications.

· Assists in the design, implementation and documentation of complex systems and centralized computer resources.

o Tests, evaluates, modifies and maintains current and new hardware/software, computer programs and systems to improve workflow.

o Manages, maintains, enhances, secures and reports on data and systems for optimal performance, including highly confidential systems and databases such asFinancial Information systems.

o Prepares detailed flow charts, and diagrams outlining system capabilities and processes; writes systems and application documentation.

o Provides functional support and expands capabilities in the areas of programming and administration.

o Provides leadership, mentoring, guidance and advice to staff as required.

o Continuously upgrades skills to keep abreast of new technology.

o Performs other related duties as required.

• Recommend database security requests in development, test, production, and disaster recover environments. Require to have good knowledge of security tools and standards.
• Perform required analysis to resolve complex technical issues/problems.
• Provide technical assistance to application team for utility usage and problem resolution. Provide consulting to developers on optimal usage of jBase features.
• Work with application and DRP teams to ensure disaster recovery plan is tested and works properly.
• Provide skilled counsel in the technical design of applications. Ensure optimum use of software facilities and features; walk through critical components.
• With senior staff, make decisions on data placement and strategic/tactical software, addressing business-specific objectives in the context of ARO technology strategies.
• Participate in the architecture review process for new projects.
• Serve as the technical lead for projects of short duration where requried.

Qualifications

• An I T or equivalent post-secondary degree in Computer Sciences/Information Systems and four (4) years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with CUBS and jBase database applications
• Experience designing and writing software scripts to automate routine tasks and simplify system administration.
• Demonstrated ability as a team player with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• A self-starter with proven initiative in developing and executing IT projects and identifying opportunities for efficiencies.
