About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Cloud Technical Architect to support the development, security, and integration of the cloud network environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in cloud architecture (Standard, Commercial, and Hybrid) and play a critical role in shaping cloud strategies, supporting governance, and contributing to major project documentation across the Definition and Implementation Phases as outlined in the Project Approval Directive.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Network Architecture & Support

• Provide hands-on technical support and analysis of the cloud network (currently in development).
• Assist in the development of cloud network architectures, evaluating the current maturity, security posture, and policy frameworks.
• Provide technical expertise across standard, commercial, and hybrid cloud environments
• Lead the development of key architectural documentation including:
• Architecture and Design documents
• Capability analysis identifying gaps between existing and desired states
• Support cloud-related project security documentation, such as:
• Security Classification Guide (SCG)
• Security Categorization and Assessment Report (SCAR)
• Statement of Sensitivity (SoS)

Project Planning & Governance

• Provide technical architecture input into project approval documentation for both Definition and Implementation Phases, as required under the Project Approval Directive.
• Contribute architecture guidance and insight to:
• Requirements Matrix
• Project Charter
• Risk and Complexity Assessments
• Implementation Options Assessments
• Statement of Operational Requirements (SOR)
• Business Transformation Plans
• Cost Validation Documents
• Implementation Phase Study
• Project Brief

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with business analysts, security teams, and infrastructure planners to ensure architectural decisions align with business goals, security compliance, and strategic direction.
• Provide architecture-focused contributions to the Project Management Plan.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and IT infrastructure, including secure hybrid or government cloud implementations.
• Deep expertise with at least one or more cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their associated security and governance frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of IT security policies (e.g., ITSG-33, Project Approval Directive, TBS standards).
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture work in large-scale enterprise or government environments.
