Senior Business Analyst - Payments

Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for an experienced
Senior Business Analyst to support global money transfer and cross-border payment applications. The role will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze payment flows, support reporting, and lead end-to-end project delivery.

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end business analysis activities for global money transfer and payment initiatives.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, process flows, and workflows.
- Work with stakeholders to assess current-state processes and define target-state solutions.
- Analyze end-to-end payment flows, customer journeys, and downstream systems.
- Use SQL for data analysis, validation, investigation, and reconciliation.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support business insights and decision-making.
- Support UAT, testing, implementation, and defect resolution activities.
- Lead project discussions and coordinate with cross-functional business and technology teams.
- Track project milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- 7+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Jira .
- 2+ years of experience in payments .
- 4+ years of experience with SQL and Power BI .
- Strong understanding of end-to-end payment flows and downstream payment processing systems .
- Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, and UAT.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working across business and technology teams.
- Knowledge of AI and its business applications .
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Experience with cross-border payments, money transfers, or multi-currency transactions .
- Knowledge of payment rails such as ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022, Interac, wires, or cards .
- Experience with large-scale transformation or technology projects.
- Capital markets or banking operations experience.
