Job Responsibility:
We are a small, family-run business with a passion for great food and community. As we gear up for our busy food truck season, we're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality, consistent, and timely food production. For the right candidate, this position may evolve into a longer-term opportunity beyond the season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and portion large volumes of food for daily service and distribution.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Store, handle, and label food in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen work areas and equipment.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and storing kitchen deliveries.
- Monitor food quality and promptly communicate any concerns to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Comply with all food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet production schedules and service timelines.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or production cooking environment (required).
- Strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to follow recipes and written instructions with accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
- Team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written communication).
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Valid Food Handler Certification.
