Company Description First Impression Designs Inc., based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, specializes in high-end residential and multi-family interior design. Since 1994, we have been dedicated to creating inspiring interiors that reflect our clients' unique personalities. As a full-service design firm, we manage projects from inception to completion across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Our portfolio includes custom homes, renovations, small commercial, and retail spaces.

: Junior Interior Designer We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable Junior Interior Designer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow, refine their technical skills, and gain hands-on experience in high-end residential and multi-family projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist senior designers with project coordination, material selections, and client presentations.
• Answer phones and email correspondence professionally, providing excellent client service.
• Manage and maintain the material library, ensuring samples are up to date and available for projects.
• Assist in preparing detailed specification documents, including finishes, lighting, plumbing, and millwork.
• Support the production of comprehensive drawing packages using AutoCAD, including:
• Plans, elevations, and sections.
• Millwork and construction details.
• BC Building Code compliance as required.
• Plot plans and assist with drafting revisions as needed.
• Participate in show home installations and on-site styling.
• Utilize SketchUp for 3D modeling tasks (an asset but not required).
• Adapt quickly to project changes, deadlines, and client needs.
• Exhibit initiative, strong communication skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Maintain organization and multi-tasking across multiple projects.
• Bring a good sense of humour—we work hard, but we also enjoy the process!

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in interior design, including:
• Preparing full drawing packages for residential or multi-family projects.
• Handling specifications for materials, finishes, lighting, and plumbing.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Interior Design Program.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; SketchUp experience is an asset.
• Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle for site visits and sourcing.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.
• Professional email etiquette and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take feedback, learn quickly, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM (4-day work week).
• Paid lunch hour + complimentary 30-minute end-of-day break (9.5-hour workday, paid for 10).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
