Key Responsibilities & Core Accounting
Core Accounting Cycles: Full-cycle month-end close execution, journal entries, and financial reporting.
Domain Focus: Investment accounting, covering loans, financial instruments, and investment portfolios.
Standards & Compliance: Accounting experience with IFRS exposure considered a strong asset.

Excellent working knowledge of all Windows based software with exceptional
Excel skills and experience across financial analytic systems
Excellent working knowledge of technical accounting tools such as Tableau
Client centric focus with strong initiative and self-motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and balance conflicting priorities.
Nice to Have
Understanding of Insurance products and insurance accounting.
Knowledge of Investment Accounting and investment products.
Process automation knowledge and experience particularly with respect to
month-end close processes and manual journal entries.
Experience with RBC financial systems and analytical tools.

Responsibilities
Preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly journal entries,
financial statements and reporting package requirements on a timely
and accurate basis.
 Assist with external auditor requests and documentation as pertaining
to interim and year-end audits.
 Active involvement with research and implementation of new / changes
in reporting requirements. This can include revising or creating new
journal entries, investigation of issues and other reporting changes.
 Drive process improvements through streamlining and enhance quality
of work through documentation updates.

Qualifications
Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA,
CGA, CMA) or MBA or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of financial services industry experience in progressive
finance roles

Summary
IFRS 17 Finance and Actuarial Transformation – support
reduction of manual or complex tasks in the current month end
close cycle.
