Talent Acquisition Specialist

Job Overview Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead end‑to‑end recruitment activities and build strong pipelines of qualified candidates for specialized roles within the defence and marine sectors. The role involves sourcing, engaging talent, managing the recruitment process, providing market insights, supporting employer branding, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Delivery

Manage full-cycle recruitment from intake to offer

Partner with hiring managers on role requirements and timelines

Coordinate interviews and candidate assessments to support strong hiring decisions

Deliver a consistent, positive candidate experience

Sourcing, Pipelines & Engagement

Proactively source and engage talent across multiple channels (including direct outreach)

Build and maintain pipelines for niche and recurring roles

Support employer branding through social media, events, and talent community engagement

Insights, Relationships & Operations

Share market insights, candidate feedback, and pipeline updates with hiring managers

Use data to support hiring conversations and improve outcomes

Maintain accurate ATS data and support continuous improvement of recruitment processes

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Business, Arts, Human Resources, Marketing, Psychology, or a related discipline

2–5 years of experience in talent acquisition

Experience managing full-cycle recruitment in a fast‑paced environment

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and sourcing tools is an asset

CPHR or RPR designation (or working toward) is considered an asset

Please note that this role is permanent onsite in Dartmouth, NS.
