Sr. Compensation Analyst

Robert Half Canada is partnering with a client in Richmond Hill to identify a Senior Compensation Analyst to support internal stakeholders across Finance and People & Culture. This position reports to senior finance leadership and plays a key role in compensation, payroll accounting, reconciliation, and related financial analysis.This opportunity offers a collaborative team environment, an open-office setting, and professional development support, including CPA dues coverage and mentorship from senior finance leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post payroll-related journal entries, including wages, commissions, benefits, and statutory deductionsPerform regular account reconciliations related to payroll, commissions, benefits, and accrual accounts on a bi-weekly, monthly, and year-end basisReconcile payroll registers to the general ledger and investigate and resolve discrepanciesCalculate and process monthly commissions for sales employees and third-party agents, including reconciliation to supporting schedulesComplete bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reconciliations, including year-end payroll activitiesPrepare, analyze, and reconcile statutory remittances and related accounts, including EHT and WSIBReview wage calculations and deductions for accuracy and ensure appropriate accounting treatmentMaintain detailed reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation for audit and internal review purposesIdentify discrepancies, recommend process improvements, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholdersSupport additional accounting and finance-related responsibilities as assignedQualifications3-5 years of experience in payroll accounting, general ledger accounting, compensation analysis, or a related finance roleStrong experience preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations in a payroll or compensation-related environmentSolid understanding of full-cycle payroll and its impact on financial reportingKnowledge of payroll, HRIS, and accounting systemsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulasStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailExperience with systems such as ADP, CRM platforms, Epic, Fusion, or HCM is considered an assetFamiliarity with workers' compensation, salary structures, compensation administration, and HR administration is an assetCPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is considered an assetWhat's OfferedBase salary of $75,000-$95,000Discretionary bonusHybrid work arrangement with 3 days on-siteCollaborative and team-oriented work environmentCPA dues supportMentorship from senior finance leadershipRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
